The 2021 IPO rush and the 25.4 percent slide of 2022
It tests the issuance-rush-as-top-signal argument against primary (tier 1) statistics: 311 US IPOs worth 1,193.6 hundred-million dollars in the 2021 boom and the 25.4 percent S&P 500 drawdown of 2022.

A record 311 deals worth 1,193.6 hundred-million dollars in 2021
University of Florida professor Jay Ritter's IPO statistics (Table 1, operating-company IPOs at 5 dollars or more) show US IPOs jumping from 165 deals worth 618.6 hundred-million dollars in 2020 to a record 311 deals worth 1,193.6 hundred-million dollars in 2021. They collapsed to 38 deals worth 69.9 hundred-million dollars in 2022.
The S&P 500 from a 4,818.62 high to a 3,491.58 low
The S&P 500 topped intraday at 4,818.62 on 2022-01-04 (closing 4,796.56 on 2022-01-03) and bottomed intraday at 3,491.58 on 2022-10-13 (closing 3,577.03 on 2022-10-12). The closing-basis slide was about 25.4 percent.
The order fits, but issuance alone explains nothing
The order of an issuance rush peaking in 2021, then an index high in January (month 1) of 2022 and a low in October (month 10) of 2022, fits the video's issuance-as-top-signal argument. Still, other variables such as rising rates and valuations keep issuance alone from explaining the drawdown, and the 2022 issuance crash reads as a consequence of the selloff rather than a proven cause.
What this case does not verify
The operating-company IPO lens excludes SPACs and direct listings, so it may differ from the whole issuance market. This checks only the 2021~2022 stretch, guaranteeing nothing about current IPO flows following the same path, and the past drawdown must not be used as a current trading signal. The video's SpaceX and Anthropic figures and the grocery-bill report were not verified in this case.
