Documented facts
On 2019-11-21 in Los Angeles, Tesla unveiled the Cybertruck at a 3 ten-thousand plus 9900-dollar starting price, with 250, 300, and 500 miles of range by trim and production in late 2021 for cheaper trims and late 2022 for the top trim. First deliveries began at the 2023-11-30 delivery event at 6 ten-thousand plus 990, 7 ten-thousand plus 9990, and 9 ten-thousand plus 9990 dollars with 250, 340, and 320 miles of range, differing from the unveil. Later US sales, per Cox Automotive estimates, were 3 ten-thousand plus 8965 in 2024, 2 ten-thousand plus 237 in 2025 (down 48.1%), and 1 ten-thousand plus 1586 in quarters 1 to 3 of 2026, running at about 13% of the 25 ten-thousand annual goal on a recent-quarter basis.
What the numbers say
The unveil-to-delivery span was about 4 years, 2 years behind the announced schedule; the starting price rose about 50% and top-trim range fell from 500 to 320 miles. Against a 25 ten-thousand annual goal, actual sales ran about 3 ten-thousand plus 9000 in the first year and declined after, showing launch figures and targets guarantee neither deliveries nor sales. For the Roadster too, separate confirmed specs, prices, delivery dates, road approval and liability, and production evidence from the demo and performance figures.
Separating launch figures from delivery records
Launch-event figures document a maker's intentions and goals, a different record from confirmed specs, prices, and dates at delivery. Confirm with after-the-fact records like delivery reports, volumes, and recalls; a production target caps facility capacity, not sales.
Limits
The Cybertruck and the Roadster are different products in segment, price, and era, so past delays prove nothing about the Roadster. Sales figures are 3rd-party estimates, not confirmed totals, and merger and AI-integration value must be judged separately from vehicle execution.
